Currently GP's can prepare a MHCP for an eligible client, for an initial six (6) sessions with a psychologist. If further sessions are required, a GP can review the plan and request a further four (4) sessions with a psychologist. Overall clients with a MHCP are eligible for ten sessions with a psychologist per calendar year. 

NB: Medicare Rebates only apply to clients with a MHCP seeing a Psychologist.  If you are attending appointments with a Provisional Psychologist or Therapy Assistant/Counsellor, our fees have already been adjusted to reflect that Medicare rebates do not apply.

Perception Psychology Mackay provides services to clients of the NDIS who are Self-Managed or Plan-Managed. 

Psychological services can be funded if the following Intervention/Capacity Building Supports are included on your NDIS Plan: 

• Early Intervention Services (Psychology)
• Capacity Building  - Improved Daily Living 
• Capacity Building - Improved Relationships

We bill for these services at the rates outlined in the NDIS price guide. 

Perception Psychology Mackay is able to bill Private Health Funds for provision of psychological services.  You will need to speak to your health fund regarding eligibility. 

Perception Psychology Mackay is registered to provide support to those undergoing WorkCover claims requiring mental health assessment and treatment.  You will need to ensure that psychological services are approved by WorkCover prior to attending your appointment. 

Clients can also self-refer/pay privately for the provision of psychological services.
